EMDR Timer is a free tool for timing and counting EMDR processing sets. Using it means accepting what follows. It is short, because the tool is small and I would rather you read it than scroll past it.
Not a medical device. It is a timer and a notepad. It makes no clinical assessment, offers no diagnosis and does not guide treatment. It is not registered with the MHRA or any equivalent regulator and must not be relied on as though it were.
You are the clinician. The tool holds a stopwatch and a few notes; everything that matters in the room remains yours.
This is the part people most often wish they had read. Your sessions are stored in one browser on one device, encrypted with a key only you hold. They can be lost permanently if you forget your PIN, clear your browser data, lose or reset the device or leave the app unopened long enough that your browser tidies its storage away.
Adding the app to your home screen makes that last one far less likely and there is an encrypted backup feature. Please use both if any of this matters to you. See the privacy page for how the storage actually works.
The timer, the sets, the notes, the ratings, the log and every export format are free and stay free. If a paid bilateral stimulation module arrives later, nothing that is already free moves behind it.
The app is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. I have tested it carefully and I use it in my own clinical work, but I cannot promise it will be free of faults, available without interruption or that it will never lose data.
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from using the app, including lost session data, lost records or any consequence of relying on it in clinical work. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Given the app is free, please calibrate your reliance on it accordingly and keep your own records.
The source is public at github.com/richchips/emdrtimer, so you can check the privacy claims rather than take my word for them.
These terms may change. The date at the top will say when. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the revised version.
